Born in Barakaldo, Bizkaia (1959). From an early age he shows interest in drawing and painting, channelling his interest initially towards decoration, enrolling at the Institute of Decorative Arts in Bilbao at the age of sixteen, where he begins to learn the basics of drawing, theories of color, composition and creativity, and it is there where he learns the technique of watercolor. Years later, he attended the Museum of Artistic Reproductions in Bilbao where, under the guidance of the painter Manuel Balsa, he learned to draw the human figure with ease and to learn in depth the techniques of painting, including watercolor, which would become the protagonist in the beginning of his career, which would be reinforced by the achievement of what would be his first outstanding prize in the XLV Alavese Art Contest, a fact that would lead to his first solo exhibition. Already at that time he has changed his residence from his hometown to the town of Artziniega, Alava, where he will develop his work as a painter. From this moment his career is consolidated and begins to exhibit his work at first by his environment but soon throughout the state. It is then when he began to give introductory courses in painting both in his place of residence and in neighboring towns.
